 Visiting Service

working with older people for over 60 years

Age Concern Epsom & Ewell’s Visiting Service provides both Home Visitors and Befrienders.

Our Home Visitors visit people in their own homes to:

Lady opening her front door
  • Assess their needs
  • Inform them about Community Services.
  • Help them to apply for benefits, particularly Attendance Allowance
  • Place volunteer befrienders with lonely people
  • Take clients on introductory visits to Social Centres

To request a visit, please ring the Age Concern Office on 01372 732456 between 9.30 and 1.00 Monday to Friday.                                                                        If a third party makes the referral, the client must give his/her consent before we can visit.

Befrienders are volunteers, who spare an hour or two a week to visit a lonely or isolated older person.

Initially, we visit the client to establish his or her needs and interests. We then try to find a suitable befriender who will make regular visits. Generally. both client and befriender find this a very rewarding experience.  Currently, over 40 clients are benefiting from this service.

If you are interested in having a befriender or would like to volunteer to become one, please contact our office on 01372 732456.
